This privacy policy explains what personal data onlinebetfree.co.uk (“OnlineBetFree”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, why we use it, who we share it with and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Who we are (data controller)

The data controller for this website is High Value Traffic Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14615116), whose address is 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE.

For any question about this policy or your personal data, email sales@hvtagency.com or write to us at the address above, marked “Privacy”.

What this website is

OnlineBetFree compares betting offers from operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and publishes guides and match previews. We are not a bookmaker. We do not take bets, open betting accounts, hold customer funds or ask you to register with us. This site is intended only for people aged 18 or over.

Personal data we collect

Information collected automatically when you visit

  • Analytics data through Google Analytics 4 (see below): pages viewed, how you arrived at the site, approximate location (city or region level, derived from your IP address), device type, browser and operating system, and interactions such as clicks on offer links.
  • Server and security logs kept by our hosting and security providers (see “Hosting and security” below): your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the browser user agent and the referring page.

Information you give us

  • Emails you send us: your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
  • Comments: if you leave a comment on one of the older pages that still allow comments, the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, and your IP address and browser user agent (used by WordPress to help detect spam). Your email address is not published.

We do not ask for, and do not want to receive, special category data (for example health information) or payment details. Please do not send these to us.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Our measurement ID is G-MVGD80ZPK3. Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga and _ga_MVGD80ZPK3) and similar technology to distinguish visitors and sessions. We use it for site statistics only. We do not use Google Analytics to identify you personally, and we do not send Google your name or email address.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses for UK users. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, after which Google deletes it.

Turning analytics off: you can switch Google Analytics off for this browser at any time.

Turn analytics off · Turn analytics back on

Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage, so it applies to this browser and device only and is lost if you clear your browsing data. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to turn analytics off. You can also install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

More information: Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Local storage is a similar browser feature. This site uses:

Name Set by Purpose Type
_ga, _ga_MVGD80ZPK3 Google Analytics Distinguish visitors and sessions for statistics Analytics cookie
Cloudflare security cookies (for example __cf_bm, cf_clearance) Cloudflare Tell people apart from bots and protect the site from attacks; set only when Cloudflare needs them Strictly necessary
WordPress comment cookies (comment_author_*) This site Remember your name and email for future comments, only if you tick the box when commenting Functional (optional)
obfAnalyticsOff This site (local storage) Remember that you turned analytics off Strictly necessary
obfTgBarDismissed This site (local storage) Remember that you closed the Telegram bar on mobile Functional

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working. When you click through to an operator’s website, that operator sets its own cookies under its own privacy and cookie policy.

Many links to bookmakers and casinos on this site are affiliate links. These links are marked with #ad and open the operator’s website. When you click one, the link carries a tracking reference that tells the operator (and, in some cases, an affiliate network that runs the programme for them) that you came from OnlineBetFree. If you then open an account, we may be paid a commission. This never changes the terms you get.

We do not pass your name, email address or any other details that identify you to operators. Operators send us reports of sign-ups and activity linked to our tracking references, which do not include your name or contact details. Once you are on an operator’s website, the operator is the data controller for the information you give it, and its own privacy policy applies. We only link to operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.

We use Google Analytics to count clicks on offer links (an “offer_click” event with the brand name and the page you clicked from) so we know which content is useful.

Hosting and security: WP Engine and Cloudflare

This website is hosted by WP Engine and delivered through Cloudflare, which provides caching, performance and security services (including protection against attacks and bots). Every request to the site passes through Cloudflare and reaches WP Engine’s servers, so both process your IP address and request details as our processors, under contracts that require them to protect the data and use it only to provide their services to us. Their server and security logs are kept for limited periods under their own retention policies.

Page fonts may be loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address.

More information: Cloudflare privacy policy, WP Engine privacy policy.

  • Comments: for as long as the comment is published. Ask us at any time to remove your comment.
  • Server and security logs: for the limited periods set by WP Engine and Cloudflare.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased in certain circumstances;
  • restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances;
  • object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests;
  • data portability, where we use your data with your consent or under a contract and the processing is automated;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

To use any of these rights, email sales@hvtagency.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will reply within one month, which can be extended by up to two further months for complex requests, in which case we will tell you why. There is normally no charge.

This website is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

This site links to operators, regulators, support services and other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their own privacy policies.
