Betting bonuses are the promotions UK bookmakers use to win and keep customers. For new customers the most common one is “bet and get”: you place a qualifying bet with your own money, often £10, and receive free bets, worth between £10 and £40 on the offers we currently list. Other types include deposit match bonuses, free spins on casino sites and free-to-play prediction games. Every bonus has conditions, so the useful question is not how big it looks but what you have to stake and what you can actually withdraw. Each offer on this page has its significant terms next to it.
What types of betting bonus are there?
Most UK betting bonuses fall into one of the types below. The examples are real offers we checked on the bookmakers’ own pages on 21 October 2026.

Which betting bonus needs the smallest stake?
Of the offers we list, Sky Bet’s welcome offer needs the smallest qualifying bet: 5p on a single or each-way bet at odds of 1/1 or more, after a minimum £5 deposit. You get three £10 free bets for singles or each-way bets (not virtuals), and they expire 30 days after they are credited. Only your first bet counts, deposits by Neteller or Skrill don’t qualify, and the free bet stakes aren’t returned with winnings. Our Sky Bet sign up offer guide goes through each step.
How do you compare betting bonuses?
Compare bonuses on their terms, not their headline figure. The table puts the key terms of five sports offers side by side, as published on 21 October 2026.

When you compare, ask the same questions each time:
- How much of my own money do I stake first, and at what minimum odds?
- What can the free bets be used on? Singles only, accas, bet builders, or any market.
- When do they expire? If you won’t bet in that window, the bonus is worth nothing to you.

Do betting bonuses have wagering requirements?
Most sports free bet offers we list don’t set a wagering requirement on free bet winnings, but deposit match bonuses usually do. The Sky Bet and Midnite welcome terms we read, for example, don’t mention any wagering requirement on what you win with the free bets; the catch is that the free bet stake isn’t returned. Where wagering applies, UK-licensed operators can’t ask for more than 10 times the bonus since 19 January 2026 (Gambling Commission, LCCP SR Code 5.1.1). Can existing customers get betting bonuses?
Yes, but they change often and differ from one account to another. Common examples are acca insurance, price boosts and free-to-play games. We only list a promotion once we have read its terms. Before you take one, read how acca insurance really pays out and how bet builder offers work.
Are betting bonuses worth it?
A betting bonus is only worth it if you were going to bet anyway and the terms suit how you bet. Bonuses are marketing: they are designed to get you to open an account and keep betting. A free bet is worth less than cash because the stake isn’t returned and the bet can lose. Never deposit more, or open more accounts, just to claim a bonus. FAQs
What is the best betting bonus in the UK?
There isn’t one best bonus for everyone. Compare what you have to stake, the minimum odds, what the free bets can be used on and when they expire. Of the offers we list, Sky Bet’s needs the smallest qualifying bet: 5p at odds of 1/1 or more after a £5 deposit.
Do I need a promo code to get a betting bonus?
Some offers need one and some don’t. Midnite’s sports offer uses code BETGET30 and Dabble’s uses B10G10, while Sky Bet’s welcome offer is claimed by signing up through the offer itself. If a code is needed it is shown with the offer.
Can I withdraw a betting bonus?
Not the bonus itself. Free bet tokens are non-withdrawable, and the stake isn’t returned with winnings. Winnings from a free bet can usually be withdrawn, subject to the bookmaker’s terms and identity checks. Bonus funds with wagering must be played through first.
Can I claim more than one welcome bonus?
Each bookmaker allows its welcome offer once per customer (and usually once per household, device and payment method). Every offer at a different bookmaker needs its own qualifying bet with your own money, so set a budget before you start.
Why didn’t my deposit qualify for a bonus?
The most common reason is the payment method. Sky Bet excludes Neteller and Skrill deposits from its welcome offer, and Stakemate excludes Revolut. Our guide to payment methods excluded from welcome offers lists the usual exclusions.
