How to claim it, step by step
- Register a new Sky Bet account. The registration link on Sky Bet’s welcome offer page carries the promo code AB5G30; if the code box is empty, enter it. If you have ever had a Sky Vegas, Sky Casino, Sky Bingo or Sky Poker account, you count as an existing customer and won’t qualify.
- Add a debit card (Sky Bet asks for it for verification) and deposit at least £5. Don’t use Neteller or Skrill for this deposit.
- Place your first bet: a single or each-way of at least 5p at odds of 1/1 or bigger. Only that first bet counts. A 2p bet followed by a 3p bet won’t add up to the 5p needed.
- The three £10 tokens appear in your account. To use one, add a selection to the bet slip and tap the orange present icon.
What £30 in free bets is really worth
A free bet token isn’t cash. When it wins, you get the winnings but not the £10 stake. A £10 free bet on a 2/1 winner returns £20, not the £30 a cash bet would. If it loses, you lose nothing of your own. That’s why the value of a free bet depends heavily on the odds you use it on, and why it is worth reading how free bets work before you place one.
The tokens are single £10 units, so you can’t merge them into one £30 bet, and they can’t go on accumulators or virtual racing. Each one lapses 30 days after it lands, so don’t claim the offer in a week when you don’t plan to bet.
The catches worth knowing
- First bet only. If your first bet is at 4/5 because you forgot the minimum odds, you’ve missed the offer for good.
- Payment method. Deposits via Neteller or Skrill don’t qualify. See which deposit methods are often excluded from welcome offers.
- The offer can change by link. Sky Bet says the welcome offer can differ depending on where you click through from. Check the terms shown at sign-up match what you expect before you deposit.
- Free bet stakes aren’t returned, as explained above.
Is Sky Bet worth joining beyond the offer?
A low 5p qualifier makes this one of the cheapest welcome offers to trigger, but you’ll still be depositing £5 of your own money.
