Short answer: genuine no deposit free bets from UK-licensed bookmakers are very rare, and none of the sports welcome offers we checked on 21 October 2026 gave a free bet without a deposit. Every one asked you to put money in and place a qualifying bet first. If you see “free £10 bet, no deposit required” on a site, read the terms closely before signing up, because it’s usually missing something.
Why UK bookmakers rarely offer no deposit free bets
Bookmakers licensed by the Gambling Commission have to verify your age and identity before you can bet at all. They also lose money on offers that attract people who sign up, take the bonus and leave. A deposit requirement makes the offer more expensive to abuse, which is why the “bet £10, get £30” structure is now almost universal. The Advertising Standards Authority also expects “free” claims to be genuinely free, so a reputable site can’t call an offer “no deposit” if you have to put money in to use it.

Free-to-play games: the genuine no deposit option
The one way to win something from a bookmaker without depositing is a free-to-play predictor game. Sky Bet’s Super 6 is the best known: you predict six scores each round, and it costs nothing to enter. You still need an account and to be 18 or over, and prizes and rules change, so check the game’s own terms. These games are free, but they are also designed to bring you into the app, so treat them as a bit of fun rather than a route to profit.
How to spot a misleading “no deposit” offer
- The deposit is hidden in step two. “Sign up and get a free bet” often turns out to mean sign up, deposit, then bet.
- Free bet winnings come with wagering. Since 19 January 2026 the Gambling Commission caps bonus wagering at 10x. An offer asking for more breaches UK rules, which suggests the site may not be UKGC licensed. Our guide to wagering requirements explains the maths.

Can I get a free bet with no deposit in the UK?
Rarely. None of the UK sports welcome offers we checked on 21 October 2026 gave a free bet without a deposit. Free-to-play games such as Sky Bet Super 6 are the main genuine no-deposit option.
What is the cheapest sign up offer to trigger?
Of the offers we have verified, Sky Bet’s needs a £5 deposit and a first bet of at least £5 at odds of 1/1 or bigger for 3 x £10 free bets (excl. virtuals, 30-day expiry). The others in our table need £10 or more.
Are no deposit free bet offers a scam?
Not always, but read the terms. Many offers called no deposit actually need a deposit later, and sites offering big no-deposit bonuses may not be licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.
Do free bet winnings have wagering requirements?
Most UK sports free bets pay winnings as cash with no wagering, although the free bet stake is not returned. Where wagering applies, UK rules cap it at 10x from 19 January 2026.
