Last checked 21 October 2026 by Tom Perkins. Licence data checked against Gambling Commission public register data, October 2026. Updated monthly.
The newest UK bookmaker licence in October 2026 went to HYPES SB UK LTD (trading name “Hypes”, Gambling Commission account 102074), with a remote real-event betting licence active from 14 October 2026. Before that, the register shows Midnite Limited (11 August 2026), Ballyhack Sports and Gaming (rambobet.co.uk, 28 July 2026) and Clobet Limited (Lottofy, 10 July 2026). A licence confirms a business is authorised; it doesn’t confirm a site is live.
New bookmakers appear in the UK every year. Before you join one, the most important question isn’t what it offers but whether it’s properly licensed and who runs it. This page lists newly licensed betting businesses from the Gambling Commission’s public register and explains how to vet them. We add a dated section each month.
October 2026: newly licensed betting businesses
The table shows businesses with an active remote General Betting Standard – Real Event licence starting between December 2025 and October 2026, with the trading name or domain recorded on the register. Newest first.

Source: Gambling Commission public register business, licence, trading name and domain data, checked October 2026. A licence on the register confirms the business is authorised; it doesn’t confirm that a website is live, what it offers, or when it launched. We couldn’t verify launch dates from official sources, so we don’t state them. Listing here is not a recommendation.
Notes on this month’s entries
- Hypes (102074): the register lists the trading name “hypes” but no domain yet. Don’t trust a site claiming to be Hypes unless its domain appears on the register.
- Midnite Limited (101839): not a new brand. Midnite has been licensed through Dribble Media Limited (account 42647) since 2018; the newer company also lists www.midnite.com. See our Midnite review.
- Dabble: Dabble Sports UK Ltd (65677) added a virtual-event betting licence in January 2026; its main remote betting licence dates from April 2025. See the Dabble sign up offer.

We only list offers we’ve verified on the operator’s own page. Recently licensed brands we cover include Stakemate (Bet Theory (Malta) Limited, licence start 2 May 2025) and Dabble. UK rules have banned mixed sports-and-casino welcome offers since 19 January 2026, so each offer covers one product.
How to vet a new bookmaker
1. Check the licence yourself
Find the licensed company name and account number in the site footer. Search it on the Gambling Commission public register. Check the licence is active, covers remote betting, and that the domain you’re on is listed.
2. Find out who runs it
The licensed company is responsible for your account, money and complaints. Some new brands are run by established groups; others are entirely new businesses.
3. Check how your money is protected
Before you deposit, operators must tell you whether customer funds are not protected or have medium or high protection if the business becomes insolvent. This matters more with a business that has little track record.
4. Read the welcome offer terms
Check the qualifying bet, minimum odds, expiry, whether the free bet stake is returned (usually not), payment exclusions and any wagering. Wagering can be no more than 10 times the bonus. See how free bets work and how to claim free bets.
5. Check the safer gambling tools
Licensed operators must prompt you to set a deposit limit before your first deposit and must offer time-outs and self-exclusion, including GamStop.
6. Check the complaints route
The terms should name an independent alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider.
White-label vs independent licences
Some new brands hold their own Gambling Commission licence. Others are “white labels”: the website carries a brand, but the licence and responsibility belong to another company whose register entry lists the domain. Both are legal if the domain is on the register. With a white label, the licence holder named in the footer is who you’d complain to, and the terms, payments and offers may match other brands run by the same licensee. If a site’s footer names a company whose register entry doesn’t list that domain, don’t deposit.
Beware “not on GamStop” sites
Sites advertising that they’re “not on GamStop” aren’t licensed in Great Britain. They don’t have to follow the credit card ban, the 10x wagering cap or deposit-limit rules. Read how to choose a safe gambling site.
Should you join a new bookmaker?
A new site may have useful features, but it’s also another account to manage. If you join, keep your overall budget the same, set a deposit limit straight away, and don’t sign up only for the offer. Compare established brands on our UK betting sites page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the newest UK bookmaker? On the Gambling Commission register, the newest remote real-event betting licence we found starts on 14 October 2026, for HYPES SB UK LTD (trading name Hypes, account 102074). No domain was listed yet. A licence doesn’t mean a site has launched, so check the register before joining.
Are new bookmakers safe? A new bookmaker licensed by the Gambling Commission must follow the same rules as established ones, including deposit limits, GamStop and the 10x wagering cap. Check the licence is active and the domain is listed, see how customer funds are protected, and start with a small deposit limit.
How do I check a bookmaker’s licence? Find the company name and account number in the site footer, then search for it on the Gambling Commission public register. Check that the licence status is active, that it covers remote betting, and that the exact domain you’re using is listed against it.
What is a white-label bookmaker? A white label is a betting brand run under another company’s Gambling Commission licence. It’s legal if the domain is listed on that licensee’s register entry. The licence holder, not the brand, is responsible for your account and complaints.
Do new bookmakers have better sign up offers? Not necessarily. All UK-licensed bookmakers follow the same rules, including the 10x wagering cap and the ban on mixed sports-and-casino offers. Compare the significant terms (minimum odds, expiry, stake returned or not and payment exclusions) rather than the headline amount.
Staying in control
Set a deposit limit before your first deposit (licensed operators must prompt you to), decide your budget in advance and never chase losses. You can self-exclude from all online gambling sites licensed in Great Britain for free with GamStop, and many banks let you block gambling payments. The National Gambling Helpline (0808 8020 133) is free, confidential and open 24 hours a day. See our responsible gambling page.
