Quick verdict

Matchbook is a betting exchange and sportsbook, licensed through Triplebet Limited. It charges commission only on net winnings, its funding FAQ gives clear minimums (£10 for cards and e-wallets) and it lists support by live chat and email. Its app is rated 4.7/5 from more than 1,600 ratings and advertises streams of every horse and greyhound race. The commission-free welcome offer quoted in the app listing may be out of date, so check it with Matchbook. Note the iOS app is listed by a different company name from the licensee.

Matchbook’s App Store listing (checked 20 October 2026) advertises 110 days of 0% commission for new customers who register with code COMMFREE110 and deposit, after which the default rate applies. However, we also found a report that this offer ended on 31 August 2025, and we couldn’t confirm it on Matchbook’s website. So see operator for current offer.

As with any commission-free deal, it doesn’t protect your stake or liability – it only removes the charge on winnings. For how stake-not-returned tokens are valued, see how free bets work; for play-through conditions, see wagering requirements explained. Compare other current deals on our free bets page.

Offers for existing customers

The app listing mentions weekly promotions. We didn’t verify specific promotions for existing customers. See our acca insurance guide for how sportsbook acca offers usually work.

Is Matchbook legit? Licence and safety checks

On 20 October 2026 the register showed Triplebet Limited (account 39504) with active remote betting intermediary and general betting licences and www.matchbook.com as an active domain. You can check this yourself: scroll to the footer of the Matchbook site, note the company name and account number, and search it on the Gambling Commission public register. Check that the licence status is “Active”, that it covers remote betting, and that the exact domain you’re using is listed. A licence means the operator must verify your age and identity, hold customer funds under disclosed protection rules, offer safer gambling tools and use an approved dispute resolution service. It doesn’t mean any bet is safe from loss, and it doesn’t guarantee good service.

Before you sign up with Matchbook

  1. Decide your budget first, and set a deposit limit when the site prompts you – before your first deposit.
  2. Read the significant terms beside the welcome offer: qualifying stake and odds, payment exclusions, expiry and any restrictions on how the free bets can be used.
  3. Check that your preferred payment method is accepted and qualifies for the offer.
  4. Have ID ready. Licensed operators must verify you before you can gamble, and may ask for more documents before a withdrawal.
  5. Only place the qualifying bet if it’s a bet you would be happy to make anyway. If the offer doesn’t suit how you bet, you don’t have to take it.

Sports and markets

Matchbook offers exchange markets plus a sportsbook (its general betting licence dates from December 2023). Racing and football are its best-known markets; we didn’t verify the full list or liquidity.

Odds and features

Matchbook says its commission is charged on net winnings – only on profit from a market, not on losing bets. We didn’t verify the current rate, which can vary by product and account. You can back, lay and set your own odds. The app listing also names a bet builder (see our bet builder guide) and racing live streams.

The Matchbook app

Matchbook’s iOS app was rated 4.7/5 from 1,616 ratings when checked. The App Store seller is Xanadu Consultancy Limited, not Triplebet Limited – this is common where a group company publishes the app, but you may want to confirm with Matchbook. We didn’t test the app.

Payments and Matchbook withdrawal times

Matchbook’s account funding FAQ lists Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Neteller and Skrill, with a £10 minimum deposit. Bank wire is available with a £500 minimum and takes 3–5 business days. For funding questions Matchbook lists accounts@matchbook.com, as well as general support by email and live chat. We couldn’t verify card or e-wallet withdrawal times. PayPal isn’t on the list – see our PayPal betting sites page.

Safer gambling tools at Matchbook

We did not verify Matchbook’s safer gambling tools on an official page. Laying a bet exposes you to a liability that can exceed the backer’s stake.

Whichever bookmaker you use, set a deposit limit before your first deposit (licensed operators must prompt you to), decide your budget in advance and never chase losses. GamStop lets you self-exclude from all online gambling sites licensed in Great Britain for free at gamstop.co.uk, and many banks let you block gambling transactions. The National Gambling Helpline (0808 8020 133) is free, confidential and open 24 hours a day. See our responsible gambling page for more.

Pros and cons

What we found positive

  • Commission charged only on net winnings.
  • Clear funding minimums and contact emails in its FAQ.
  • Racing streams advertised in the app.

What to be aware of

  • Welcome offer status unclear.
  • No PayPal.
  • App publisher name differs from the licensee.
