Quick verdict

Spreadex is different from most bookmakers in this list: alongside a normal fixed-odds sportsbook it offers sports spread betting, where you can lose more than your initial stake. That makes it a specialist choice. The fixed-odds side has the features you’d expect – cash out in three forms, a bet builder and live streaming, per Spreadex – and payment information is clear, with card withdrawals often within two hours of approval. The Gambling Commission register shows a remote betting licence start date of 1 January 2009 for Spreadex Limited. If you are new to betting, start with fixed odds only; spread betting is not suitable for anyone who can’t afford losses larger than their stake.

Spreadex’s account opening page refers to a main “Bet £10, Get £60” fixed odds new account offer and notes you may have a different fixed-odds offer if you arrive via another affiliate promotion. We could not open the full fixed-odds terms page, so for the fixed-odds part, see operator for current offer. What the account opening page itself sets out:

  • Place a fixed odds bet of at least £10 at minimum odds of 1/2. Once it settles, the account opening offer is triggered.
  • You receive three £10 free fixed odds bets, awarded 24 hours apart. With each one you also receive a free £5 Total Goals spread bet and a free £5 Winning Favourites horse racing spread bet (6 free spread bets in total).
  • Your account must be configured for spread betting to use the free spread bets.
  • The offer expires if the required qualifying bets haven’t settled within 28 days of opening the account; clients reopening accounts don’t usually qualify; it can’t be combined with other Spreadex offers.

Spreadex’s own wording on risk is worth repeating: “Whilst these are free bets where no losses can be incurred, please remember that when placing future spread bets it is possible to incur losses that exceed your initial stake.”

The same page also advertises a spread betting cashback offer (up to £300 cash, or an iPad, based on how much you stake on qualifying spread markets in your first 28 days). We’d urge caution: it rewards higher spread betting stakes, and Spreadex notes that cashback “is not a free bet and therefore it is possible to incur losses that exceed your stake.” Don’t increase your spread betting to reach a reward.

For how fixed-odds free bets are valued, see how free bets work and wagering requirements explained. Other current offers are on our free bets page.

Offers for existing customers

We didn’t verify Spreadex’s current existing-customer promotions, so we aren’t listing any. For acca refund-type offers, our acca insurance guide explains the usual conditions.

Sports and markets

Spreadex’s qualifying spread markets list gives a sense of breadth: horse racing, football, cricket, greyhounds, golf, tennis, NFL, both rugby codes, basketball, snooker and darts, with markets such as bookings, corners and total goal minutes. Those are spread markets; we didn’t separately verify the fixed-odds market list.

Odds and features

Spread betting – how it differs

In a spread bet you “buy” or “sell” against a range (for example, total match goals). You win or lose a multiple of your stake depending on how far the result is from the price, so a £5-a-point bet can lose much more than £5. Spreadex likens selling a favourite to laying a bet on an exchange. If you’re unfamiliar with it, stick to fixed odds.

Cash out, bet builder and streaming

Spreadex lists three cash out options (one-click, auto and partial), Bet-Builder options and live streaming. We didn’t test them. Our bet builder guide explains how same-event combinations are priced.

The Spreadex app

Spreadex states that, as of 24 February 2026, its Spreadex Sports app was rated 4.7/5 from 1,089 iOS ratings and 4.6/5 from 370 Google Play reviews. Those are Spreadex’s figures; we didn’t test the app.

Payments and Spreadex withdrawal times

From Spreadex’s payment information page:

  • Minimum deposit £5. Deposits by UK debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Pay by Bank, bank transfer (credited within 2 working days), cheque or direct debit. No third-party payments and no e-wallets.
  • Minimum withdrawal £5 of cleared funds not supporting open positions.
  • Card withdrawals: within 2 hours of approval where the card issuer supports it, otherwise 2–5 days. Card and Apple/Google Pay withdrawals max £25,000 at a time.
  • Pay by Bank is the fastest withdrawal route, but you must have deposited by Pay by Bank first.
  • Bank transfers within 2 working days; same-day CHAPS for £25.

If you want PayPal, Spreadex isn’t an option – see our PayPal betting sites list.

Safer gambling tools at Spreadex

We did not verify Spreadex’s individual safer gambling tools on an official page. Because spread betting can produce losses larger than your stake, set a deposit limit and consider whether to enable spread betting at all.

Whichever bookmaker you use, set a deposit limit before your first deposit (licensed operators must prompt you to), decide your budget in advance and never chase losses. GamStop lets you self-exclude from all online gambling sites licensed in Great Britain for free at gamstop.co.uk, and many banks let you block gambling transactions. The National Gambling Helpline (0808 8020 133) is free, confidential and open 24 hours a day. See our responsible gambling page for more.
