A full-cover bet combines a set number of selections into every possible multiple: all the doubles, trebles and upwards. Some types also add singles. The more selections there are, the more bets, and the stake multiplies with them.

The number of bets follows from combinations: for example 6 selections give 15 possible doubles (6 choose 2).
What it costs
Multiply the unit stake by the number of bets, and double it for each-way. A 10p Goliath costs £24.70 win or £49.40 each-way. A £1 Heinz costs £57 win or £114 each-way. Work out the total before you place it.
How returns work
Each line is settled separately. A losing selection kills every line that contains it. A void or non-runner selection is normally treated at odds of 1.0 (evens stake returned, no profit), so lines containing it run on the others. With two winners in a Trixie or Yankee, only one double pays.
Worked example: Trixie (illustration only)
£1 Trixie (£4), three selections all at evens (decimal 2.0), all win: three doubles return £4 each (£12) and the treble returns £8. Total £20. Make it a Patent (£7) and the three singles add £2 each: total £26.
Trixie, Yankee or Lucky 15?
Types with singles (Patent, Lucky 15/31/63) give a return from one winner, but cost more per selection. Types without singles need at least two winners for any return. None of them changes the chance of a selection winning; they only change how stakes are spread.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a Yankee and a Lucky 15? Both use 4 selections. A Lucky 15 adds 4 singles, so it is 15 bets instead of 11.
What is a Super Yankee? Another name for a Canadian: 26 bets on 5 selections.
Is a Heinz the same as a Lucky 63? No. A Heinz is 57 bets on 6 selections with no singles; a Lucky 63 adds the 6 singles.
Do I need all selections to win? No. Most full-cover bets pay from two winners; those with singles pay from one.
Can selections be in the same event? Usually not. Bookmakers normally require selections in separate events for these bets.
