Only some UK bookmakers accept PayPal. Of the bookmakers whose help pages we checked, bet365 lists PayPal for deposits and withdrawals, while Sky Betting & Gaming says PayPal is no longer accepted at Sky Bet. A PayPal deposit must come from your PayPal balance, a debit card or a bank account, never a credit card, and some welcome offers don’t count PayPal deposits, so check the terms before you deposit.

PayPal is one of the payment methods some UK bookmakers accept for deposits and withdrawals. This page explains how PayPal works with betting accounts, lists bookmakers whose own help pages confirm they accept it, and covers what to check before you use it – including whether it qualifies for welcome offers.

Which UK bookmakers accept PayPal?

We only include a bookmaker here if its official help or payments page confirms PayPal is accepted for UK customers. If we could not confirm it, we left the bookmaker out. Payment options change, so check the bookmaker’s cashier before you deposit.

Bookmaker What its help page says
bet365 Lists PayPal as a deposit method, funded from your PayPal balance, a debit card or instant bank transfer. Withdrawals of PayPal deposits are processed back to the same PayPal account. Its page says your PayPal account must be verified.

Not available: Sky Betting & Gaming’s help pages state that PayPal is no longer accepted across its brands, including Sky Bet.

Can you claim a welcome offer with a PayPal deposit?

Not always. Some bookmakers exclude certain payment methods – most often e-wallets – from welcome offers. Exclusions differ between bookmakers and can change, so always check the significant terms next to the offer and the full terms before you deposit. Read our guide to payment methods excluded from welcome offers.

Here is what the welcome offers we list say about PayPal and other deposit methods:

Welcome offer What the terms say about the qualifying deposit
Sky Bet sports Sky Bet doesn’t take PayPal at all. Neteller and Skrill deposits are excluded from the offer.
Unibet sports Debit card or instant bank transfer deposits only, so a PayPal deposit wouldn’t qualify.
Unibet casino PayPal is named as excluded, along with Apple Pay, Paysafecard, Skrill and Neteller.
10bet sports and casino Skrill and Neteller deposits excluded. PayPal isn’t mentioned.
Stakemate Revolut deposits excluded. PayPal isn’t mentioned.
BetMGM, BetUK, Midnite, Dabble, Spreadex No payment method exclusion in the terms we recorded. That doesn’t mean the site takes PayPal: check its cashier.

Terms as recorded on our offer cards, checked on the operators’ own offer pages on 21 October 2026 (Sky Bet on 22 October 2026). Offers change, so read the significant terms next to each offer before you deposit. Playing casino games rather than betting? See PayPal casinos in the UK.

How do PayPal deposits and withdrawals work?

  1. Choose PayPal in the bookmaker’s cashier and enter the amount.
  2. Log in to PayPal (or confirm in the app) to approve the payment.
  3. The deposit is usually credited straight away.
  4. Withdrawals are normally returned to the same PayPal account you deposited from – bookmakers generally send money back to the method you used.

Your PayPal account must be in your own name, and the details must match your betting account. Bookmakers licensed in Great Britain must verify your age and identity before you can gamble.

Can you use a credit card through PayPal to bet?

Gambling with a credit card has been banned in Great Britain since 14 April 2020, and the ban covers credit card money routed through e-wallets such as PayPal (Gambling Commission, licence condition 6.1.2). In practice, your PayPal deposit must be funded from your PayPal balance, a debit card or a bank account – not a credit card.

Our guide to why you can’t bet with a credit card in the UK explains what the ban covers and what to do if a site still accepts cards.

What are the pros and cons of PayPal for betting?

Possible advantages

  • You do not have to enter card details on the betting site.
  • Deposits are typically quick.
  • Your PayPal activity gives you another record of what you have deposited.

Things to watch

  • Not every bookmaker accepts PayPal.
  • Some bookmakers exclude e-wallets from welcome offers.
  • Minimum and maximum amounts can differ from cards; check the cashier.
  • Speed can make it easy to deposit more than you intended – set a deposit limit first.

Choosing a bookmaker

Payment options are only one factor. Before you sign up anywhere, confirm the bookmaker’s Gambling Commission licence, read the terms and check its safer-gambling tools. Our guide on how to choose a safe gambling site walks through each step, and our free bets guide explains how sign-up offers work.

Staying in control

Fast payment methods make depositing quick – which is convenient, but also makes it easy to deposit more than you planned. Set a deposit limit when you open an account (licensed operators must prompt you to set one before your first deposit), and never deposit money you need for bills or essentials. If gambling is becoming a problem, you can self-exclude from all online gambling sites licensed in Great Britain for free with GamStop, and many banks let you block gambling transactions. Free, confidential support is available 24 hours a day on the National Gambling Helpline: 0808 8020 133. See our responsible gambling page.
